I’m Claire and I am the founder and owner of Outward Hounds. What follows is a little bit about me.
Your dog, cat or other furry friend is a precious member of your family. It is important therefore that you know who I am, what I do and why I hope that you feel confident and happy to leave your pet in my care.
I have always had a passion for dogs and being outdoors and now, later in life (after a career in PR and marketing), I have turned this passion into my profession. I grew up around dogs and cats. My Mum bred Golden Retrievers and Persian cats, so I cannot remember a time when animals were not a big part of my life. I love being around them and spending my time with so many different characters! No day is the same, and although it is hard work, I start and finish every day loving my job.
I am fully qualified in dog first aid and am studying for a qualification from the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers in Canine Behaviour and Training. So, whilst having the fun, I know how important it is to be fully equipped to ensure that those in my care, are safe and secure.
I have my own very cheeky and adorable dog – a chocolate Cockapoo called Maddie. Maddie spends the days with me and all her friends which makes her very happy. When we aren’t at work, we enjoy spending time at agility training, which is a lot of fun! I also have a tabby cat called Flo and I have kept rabbits, hamsters and guinea pigs. I have lots of experience with all animals and enjoy caring for each and every one!
